After about 6 years, a 480-pound woman named Gayle Laverne Grinds died after being stuck on her couch.

Yes, she actually did get stuck to her couch. The doctors said that after being on that couch for so long her skin actually fused with the couch keeping her from going anywhere. She could not even get up to use the bathroom. The stench in her house was so strong they had to blast in fresh air to keep it smelling nice and clean. To get Gayle into the hospital she had to be put in a trailor after which, she went through a six hour surgery. She died during the surgery still attached to the couch.
