A young lady was on the Dr. Phil show and wanted an apology from South-West Airlines for not wanting her to take a flight.

She had to go to Phoenix for medical reasons, but a steward told her in front of other passengers that she was indecently dressed. Now she was not revealing any private parts her breasts were covered and the skirt length was longer than the equivalent of a mini-skirt length. The temperature in the city of destination was hot warranting light clothing to be worn. So I thought that unless the owner has gone religious, he is exaggerating. I also thought that since the passenger had flown before and no corrective measures were taken, she should have been allowed to go.

I will not go into the harassment the girl underwent apart from the fact that the steward told her to go to a gift shop and buy something appropriate, otherwise she could not travel. She did get an apology on the program that Dr. Phil read out to the audience and then stated that she would not be seeking any further publicity about the matter. Her attorney though made it clear that the issue would not rest because the apology did not address the harassment.

My opinion is that she should pursue legal action so that the company airline company is fully conscious of employing someone who passes on laws as though he were the owner of the company. If the company wants to have a dress code than they should apply that before passengers get on board. I do not think that the company can expect to appease passengers by rewarding them extra tickets.
