A married couple living in the UK have been spotted "walking" their beloved goldfish.

Charles Ingrim and his wife Patricia are like any ordinary middle life couple.

They work hard, enjoy a holiday once a year and live in an average 3-bedroom home in a small village outside of Northampton, England.

But what sets this couple apart is that they take their pet goldfish for a “walk”.

You heard that correctly. The loving partners walk hand in hand with each one taking it in turns pulling a small trolley that houses their small fish tank.

According to both husband and wife, they receive curious and bemused stares from onlookers and passing people.

“People find it either bizarre or amusing”, claims Charles, 48. “But some people do ask why we take our fish tank along to the local park.”

So why do the couple do this?

Local bet

“It started as a bet down my local bar”, Charles quips. “A group of my friends and I had a bet that I dare take my goldfish out for a walk one Sunday morning. Of course I did and made fifty quid.”

People usually walk their dogs round the block or take their kids and pet canine to the park. So it is no wonder people look on the couple with a sense of amused shock when they catch a glimpse of the married duo towing behind their goldfish.

“They seem to enjoy their walk”, states Patricia, 46. “Kids run across with wonderment at the sight of Charles and I pulling along our fish tank. They love the fish”

One onlooker remarked with a cheeky smirk, “It is unusual they walk their fish – but so long as nothing fishy is going on people don’t mind.”
