One of the largest film industries suffers a breakout unrelated to swine (the bug, not the person).
Is it time for the pornography industry to wear the plastic?
According to new reports in Los Angeles, at least 16-17 un-named performers in the industry have tested positive for HIV with one currently in quarantine being questioned about who “victims” of hers might have been.
While in most other careers, it is the law to have and supply bodily protection from bodily fluids, blood and other elements and dangers, the law does not properly cover the pornography industry, therefore allowing the non-use of protection such as condoms.
Coming up too little, too late, politicians of the state as well as the AIDs Healthcare Foundation are now calling for someone with great authority to finally back legislation requiring condom use, a legislation never strongly backed before in fear that industry workers would go to dangerous bohemian lengths to have their work done their way.
This is the first major outbreak in the industry since 5 performers fell ill to the disease in 2004, putting production on hiatus for just over a month.
