An Phoenix church has been closed down after its congregation was found to be offering sex in exchange for donations.

Arizona police are quite literally throwing the book (the good book that is) at the congregation of a Phoenix Goddess Temple, which is officially listed as a church.

After a lengthy six-month investigation, at a cost of hundreds of thousands of taxpayer’s dollars, the police finally raided the temple on the 7th of September. When they entered the temple, they were mortified to discover members of the congregation performing sex acts on men for cash.

The entire congregation was arrested during the raid, including the founder Tracy Elise, they were charged with running an illegal prostitution house; taking money for sex, massage without a license, illegal control of an enterprise, false representation, and conspiracy related offences.

When questioned the prostitutes were referred to by the congregation as “seekers”, and sex as “the sacred union”. They claimed that they worked for donations.

It is believed that the “church” came to the police attention, when a new potential member of the congregation was traumatised by a visit.
