Fumes reported at Clear Lake High School.

Clear Lake, Texas — The Clear Lake High school in southeast Houston have school authorities investigating reports of fumes that have overcome people.

“The pool contractor mixed chlorine in the wrong container and put chlorine with muriatic acid,” said Elaina Polsen, spokeswoman for the Clear Creek Independent School District.

“That started a chemical reaction and the contractor was overcome with fumes and transported to the hospital,” she said.

There were no students on site because of final exams and were released early because of them.

The official said that the pool area was secured after the incident occured.

Now if this happens shouldn’t you also turn off all ventilation to within the school so that the fumes don’t spread inside? You would think that would be the case, but it didn’t happen and who knows if there are toxic fumes in Clear Lake High School now. Also, it occured in the main building, an old building, and now I wonder what other accidents that might have occured and left some toxic residue inside the school. Scary to think about worst to be. The unsuspecting students walking in and breathing, drinking (water), and eating there, what is to become of their health.
