David Blaine is an Illusionist who has been known to perform magic tricks on the street.
Today David Blaine will be starting his new stunt which will see him hanging upside-down in New York City. He’s expected to be suspended 50 feet above Wollman skating rink in Central Park for what could be 2 ½ days. During the build up to this event, medical experts have been saying that this stunt could lead to him being blind because when spending prolonged time in such a position, blood rushes to the head causing bleeding into the eyes which could result in loss of sight. They have also said that the organs in the body were not designed to withstands such a lengthy time in this one position. However, David has a team of experts around him at all times to make sure each stunt goes well. In 2003, he was suspended 30 feet above the streets of London in Tower Bridge for 44 days.

Before he performed this stunt 5 years ago, he put on a lot of weight, but it was important that he did so that the body fat would sustain and maintain his physical health.

It was also important that he drank a lot of water because dehydration would have set in. Especially when you spend 44 days exposed to the elements of the sun.

So with all this in mind and with the added experience of his Vertigo stunt, I’m sure David Blaine is confident that his newest stunt, with all it’s dangers, should go according to plan.

David Blaine has often performed live magic tricks on the streets, but he has apparently turned his eyes to the sky. With more and more airborne stunt, it makes you wonder where does it go from here and what will be his next challenge.
