David Wu Embroiled in Sex Scandal
In the midst of budget negotiations between Republicans and Democrats, both parties have a sex scandal management. It seems as if they had a lot of that going on these past two years.
This time, Congressman David Wu (D-Oregon) has been accused of “aggressive sexual behavior and unwanted,” a daughter of his old friend. Reports are emerging that this incident occurred sometime around Thanksgiving 2010. Wu denied the report, indicating the sex was consensual. The Oregonian reported Friday that the girl, who graduated from high school last year, left several voice mail messages Congresswoman anguished account of the incident.
David Wu made the decision not to run for the 2012 elections on Sunday night after House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Rep. Steve Israel of New York, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign to request a investigation of the situation. Pelosi issued a statement Sunday expressing “deep disappointment and sadness”, while Israel Wu described the behavior as “extremely serious and worrying.” Indeed. Can you imagine your 18 year old daughter to get harassed by a man 56 years old? Strange, right?
Congressman Wu revealed earlier this year, suffering from mental health problems and getting help for her. He also apologized for the actions, which included sending an e-mail himself in a tiger suit tight. It may just be the right decision for him not to run, but what are your thoughts?
