A former high profile British soap star has appeared in court in relation to a murder earlier this year.
Former Brookside star Brian Regan (53) who played Terry Sullivan for 14 years in TV soap Brookside appeared in court this morning charged with driving a murderer to and from the murder scene.
On the 24th of February this year Bahman Faraji a Liverpool doorman was shot dead at point blank range by Edward Heffey.

Regan says the prosecution was in full knowledge of the reason for the journey, and therefore should be charged as a willing accomplice in the killing. Prosecutor Brian Cummings QC said that the murder was organised like a contract killing, with Simon Smart (32) being contacted by another man.
Smart having been paid as an assassin then contacted Lee Dodson (42) to carry out the killing; Dodson then recruited Heffrey (40) and Regan to carry out the killing.
On 24th of February Faraji known locally as Ben, was contacted by a untraceable mobile phone (pay as you go), and lured to the Belgrave Pub, where the murder took place. Ben was shot directly in the face after Heffrey was able to confirm the mans identity.
The very East-End style killing, may have gone to plan, however a number of people recognised high profile Regan as he sat in the vehicle awaiting the return of Heffrey. There were other vast strings of evidence left as well, but these have yet to be heard in the court.
The case continues.
