One turkey gets put down while the Alaskan Governor pardons another and this leaves the main street media up in arms.
Apparently the main street media is up in arms as Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) pardoned a turkey while in the background the camera picked up one of the workers of this particular turkey farm killing a turkey by stepping on it and doing some other things.
When told what was going on behind her, Governor Palin, said “that’s ok”. Apparently the main street media on their quest to destroy this woman, for reasons I can not fathom, thinks this is bad judgment.
I disagree and here is why. You have to remember she hunts in Alaska, so she is not timid to the fact of the realities of us meat eaters. Why some in the main street media thinks this is appalling is beyond me because the same that criticize her will be the first to carve the Turkey on Thanksgiving Day, only the hard part of actually killing the animal is already completed for them.
Amazingly this is the same media that will make and promote movies called “Saw” where victims must butcher themselves to escape, but God forbid we show how we get our Thanksgiving Day turkey. Apparently we want to show our kids that movies about self destruction are a good thing but showing the reality of what will be your dinner is a bad thing.
I think they find it unbelievable that a woman can actually handle herself in a world dominated by men and do so by succeeding at the same things that they can. Then again maybe these people in the main street media think all people eat $30 corn beef sandwiches from Carnegie Deli in Manhattan and if they don’t are not good enough or smart enough to be an American.

I think there was some irony in the way the pardon was done–it looked basically like a pardon in the slaughterhouse. And the mainstream media was not the only one to point this out; bloggers have been all over it.
However, I agree–Palin is quite unpopular and there is nothing as attractive to people in general (not just the media) as standing up with the majority against the minority for some (perceived) cause. It’s being good on the cheap.
Personally, I think we should just let her be. I suspect she’ll be voted out of office soon enough. I mean in a state that’s what? 90% Republican she has only 80% approval rating. And that was before she ran for VP.
