Ken Morrish, a 72 year old fruit grower for 45 years, found a Golden delicious apple in his garden with a random genetic mutation. The apple is red AND green and is split perfectly down the middle.

The odds of finding an apple like this are a million to one. That was the first time Morrish had seen an apple like that in his 45 years of growing. It is so rare because of the extreme mutation.

It is said that the red side is hit by more sun so it tastes much sweeter than the green side. Morrish is hoping to see the mutation repeat in the next growing season.
