News report of the Devil’s church.

Wicca Followers and New Agers are gathering at “Haunted Baldhu Church” in Cornwall to carry out Satanist activity and to tell local folk the entrance to “Hell” is located in the forest nearby.

Thomas Bryant 20, who is a plumbing apprentice, went through a terrifying ordeal when walking his dog through the small village of Baldhu on Tuesday 14th November. Mr Bryant, from Threemilestone village a couple of miles away, started heading towards his normal route through the woods when approached by two people approximately in their 30s warning him not to go into the forest.

“Two people advanced me as I was about to enter the church, they appeared from the church grounds which has been boarded up for years and told me the entrance to hell lies in my path. I laughed at them but they looked quite offensive and pointed to a deformed tree showing me how it’s in the shape of a H to represent hell. I ignored them and carried on my usual route but I have to confess they put me on edge,” admitted Mr Bryant. It wasn’t until Mr Bryant arrived home that it struck him that they had appeared from the derelict grounds of Baldhu church where it is rumoured Satanist activity has gone on.

Baldhu church has been boarded up for many years, but no-one seems to know why. What is obvious is that the church and all the graves are facing the wrong way, South instead of North, which sparks the rumours of the church being built for the purpose of worshipping the devil, creating a haunted reputation.

This not only attracts satanic supporters, with its rumours of “strange goings on” but it’s also a location for many fascinated teenagers daring each other to enter the daunting grounds, a regular problem for Devon and Cornwall police.

Mr Devenport, a policeman in the Truro area said: “We are always getting calls from Baldhu residents explaining large groups of kids are heading down the lane leading to the unused church. By the time we get there the kids are usually trying to get a look through the boarded windows or at the most hanging through the window trying to get in but make a run for it as soon as they see us. If we manage to catch them we give them a warning, more for their safety of the broken down building than any paranormal activity. I cannot comment on any Satanist supporters.”

Baldhu Church is a famous sightseeing sport in Cornwall, a contrast to the well known beautiful beaches. It is said to have a depressing and cold atmosphere and many people have said they have sighted the ghost of the old gatekeeper wandering the graveyard. Mrs Hambly, a local from Baldhu village, who I bumped into when investigating the mystery for myself said one of the main myths surrounding the shutting down of the church is that a priest
became possessed and drowned a baby while baptising it, cursing the church and
confirming its relation to hell.
