A tribute to the world’s cheapest car.
The world’s cheapest car, the Tata Nano was displayed yesterday in India’s capital amidst excitement and noise. The Nano, which costs a mere £1,277.00 is half the cost of India’s cheapest car today and is aimed at India’s increasing aspirational middle class.
Although creators of the Nano maintain that it is India’s answer to an efficient and affordable method of family transport, there are growing concerns by Green activists as to what effect this will have on the environment.
Green activists argue that this is a step backwards in our campaign on climate change and will increase levels of Carbon Dioxide emissions. Although only a small percentage of India’s massive population will actually be able to afford the Nano, high sales are predicted.
