Is Shia Labeouf another E! True Hollywood tragedy waiting to happen or was his car accident a wake up call? I hope so.

When I was a teenager, I used to watch “Even Stevens” starring “Indiana Jones” and “Transformers” actor Shia Labeouf. Normally I am not big on celebrity news but when I heard about Shia’s rollover car accident I was shocked.

I had not followed his career much after “Even Stevens” and the Shia from those days it seems is long gone. Even if he fully recovers from the crash (which his dr.’s and attornies have said he likely will) His career may be shot. I think he needs to get into some sort of recovery program.

Alcoholics anonymous is not just for us average joe’s. If Shia continues the path he is on he is likely to end up another “E! true Hollywood Story” as one commentator on youtube noted.

I ask, has Shia not learned from his predecessors?

Remember Heath Ledger, River Phoenix and others. Learn from their mistakes, don’t repeat them. I would hate to see another young talent flushed down the drain. The first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one.

I saw an interview on youtube between Shia and Late Night’s David Letterman. The interview was apparently done when Shia was 21 and before his accident. He and Letterman were laughing about him spending his 21st birthday drunk in a walgreen’s.

No offense to you personally Shia, but I do not find your drunk antics funny. I had my own struggle with alcohol when I was younger(about 16-19) but I recognized early on that it was not a road I wanted my life to go down.

Needless to say, I quit drinking….Anyone that wants to can stop, they just have to practice a little self control. My grandpa died at the age of 47 with a wine bottle in his hand. Alcoholism is not hereditary, that’s an excuse. In reality we all make choices, and we live with the consequence of our own choices

Shia, do you want to end up like so many before you? I hope the accident was a wake up call.
