Recently there have been body parts sent in the mail to seemingly random destinations. This seems odd, crazy, awful, sad, but does seem to hold some good news as well.

In odd news today, police say that the recent mailings of body parts to two separate Vancouver schools are random. I am not sure that I would call putting body parts in the mail odd perhaps a bit over the edge of sanity, or crazy if you will, but odd…

The mailings to the two Vancouver schools came just days after two similar packages arrived in the mail to Ottawa. The police are telling us that these first body parts belonged to a Chinese student, Jun Lin. Jun Lin’ s torso had been found in a back alley in Montreal with the feet, hands, and head removed. The police in Montreal have stated that there were notes included in with these body parts. How awful a demise for anyone!

The good news here is that this death prompted an international manhunt for suspected killer Luka Rocco Magnotta. Magnotta was arrested in Berlin on Monday and is expected to be extradited to Canada. Hopefully this will go off without a hitch so that this sick person may be punished to the full extent of the law.

As awful as receiving these mailings may have been for the staff at the two Vancouver schools there is still some good news to be shared. The police say that there is no indication that any students or staff had been targeted at either school.

On a sadder note, BC Coroners Service is aiding in identifying the remains of these current mailings in Vancouver. This is truly sad because somewhere there are friends and possibly relatives of a person who has met an untimely death, and not a death by natural causes, one would assume.
