Two Million Mysterious Deaths – Linked to Global Warming?

What are the reasons and are they all connected.
With so many strange things h – Linkedappening to fish and wildlife around the world, baffled scientists only seem to be able to come up with the theory of plunging temperatures are the cause of them.
The latest happening of approximately two million fish dying suddenly in Chesapeake Bay, has caused officials to scramble for a definite answer. They have pointed out that it has happened in the area before, but still they have to look at anything and everything as to the cause.
It was only a very short time ago when there were two cases of unexplained bird deaths in Louisiana and Arkansas, which they said could have been caused by fireworks over the New Year celebrations. In Arkansas 100,000 dead fish in a river, about a hundred miles away from the bird deaths were discovered on the same day.
Similar mass deaths across the world are deepening the mystery, in places such as Sweden Brazil and New Zealand. There were reports of around 50 jackdaws had been found dead on a street in Sweden, and other unexplained mass fish deaths have occurred recently in Brazil and New Zealand.
In the end, I think it will all be put down to global warming which has weakened the Gulf Stream and caused the ice fields to retreat, plunging a lot more icy water into the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. If it is already hitting fish and wildlife hard, what will be the effect on us humans if we are entering a mini ice age? Will it affect the crops we grow now diminishing the amount that we grow, possibly causing famines? Who can say – the only thing we can be sure of is world governments will eventually have to meet, agree and act upon decisions to hopefully reverse this. These concerns will not be able to be swept away under another mountain of red tape and nationalistic fervour by certain big powers; it is the concern of all of us.

Nice Share.
I think that global warming has caused these deaths. Something has to be done, and as you correctly point it out, world governments should collectively address this issue. Tomorrow it will be humans who will be affected.
It’s a sad fact, could it be caused by the global warming?
I’m not too sure what is causing it! I hope its not too sinister..
Nice post!
I would not be so sure about the governments getting togeter to find the solution. More likely is that no solution for all would be found and those who will have the power will rather attack (over some bogus accusation) the weaker ones and use their former lands to grow more crops (or something like that) for their own people.
Great article, G. Whatever the reason, we need to try to find ways to reverse these frightening trends and keep our little spaceship moving along at a good clip. Thanks for posting this.
I think it’s likely each mass animal death will be found to have a very different cause, but that a good number of them will link back to climate change in some way.
HMPF! It’s global cooling and we in the UK are officially chilled. I’ve got rid of my fridge and fridge freezer… just have a cupboard outside the front door…
I wonder if it is global temperatures or a chemical pollution. If it is a chemical pollution, it will be covered up by our governments.
Thanks for sharing.
It’s definitely something that poses a big concern for the environment. Quite alarming trends.
This is something to worry about, today it is the fish, tomorrow we shall be dropping dead one by one as doctors look on because they do not know why this is happening!

The Arkansas birds could have died from cardiac arrest induced by a nearby lighting strike through the middle of the flock – if there was a storm. The same effect has killed several hikers in the Rockies over the years.
The birds in Italy died from ingestion of a toxin. Other birds elsewhere died from alcohol poisoning from a winery spill. I believe bacteria killed the fish in Louisiana.
You can’t ask the dead birds what killed them, nor the dead fish. But blaming it on the warming climate smells fishy to me. Don’t recall seeing dead birds from other severe winters.
The northern ice pack has been reduced due to undersea volcanoes and shifting ocean currents, not glo-bull warming.
The total ice pack of both poles combined has been fairly constant over the last several decades. One melts, the other builds up.
Ah well Wilco, some will believe anything they are told by governments – its like so many things they give explanations but never prove them. Next you will be saying the ice packs are not melting, guess you can tell that to the marines. You are entitled to your opinion and thanks for putting it on here.
