USA celebrates its National coffee day today

Coffee is a brewed beverage with a dark, slightly acidic flavor prepared from the roasted seeds of the coffee plant, colloquially called coffee beans. The beans are found in coffee cherries, which grow on trees cultivated in over 70 countries, primarily in equatorial Latin America, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa. Green (unroasted) coffee is one of the most traded agricultural commodities in the world. Coffee can have a stimulating effect on humans due to its caffeine content. It is one of the most-consumed beverages in the world. (Source: Wikipedia)
According to me, a morning without coffee is like sleep. It is the best thing to douse the sunrise with, a beverage that puts one to sleep when not drank.
It is most favored in the western countries, i.e. The Americas and Europe. But this coffee seemed to have no value to these westerners a few centuries ago. Indeed, they did not know what coffee was.
Inventor of Coffee: According to legend, a sixth-century Ethiopian goatherd named Kaldi discovered his goats frolicking from one coffee shrub to another. He recognized that the coffee berries they were eating had a stimulating effect, and he began to experiment with the seeds. A century later, brewed coffee emerged in Arabia and the popularity of coffee grew at an exponential rate. But then in Arabia, its popularity decreased, though its still practiced in some areas. The people in Asia are not used to coffee that much for two reasons:
1. It costs too much.
2. The prefer tea over coffee because it seems more light
Today, 29th of September, 2011, the United States of America, like every year, is celebrating its 90th National Coffee Day.
Reason: Still can’t figure out. But what I know is, more than 400 billion cups of coffee is consumed each year.
A minimum of two cups of coffee is drunk by an American individual in order to celebrate this day.
I think it is a national holiday in the United States.
A lot of local and national and also international coffee productions are selling/handing out coffee for a discount, or even free to the people of the nation.
Mostly cup o’ Joe, as we know it, is being given for free. You can find it in all seven-eleven stores and in shops of the popular donut chain ‘Krispy Kreme.’
Dunkin’ Donuts: Dunkin’ donuts did participate, but according to the latest information, it has stepped back from his decision of giving out coffee for free.
(Reader’s digest was right, Jesus did die for their donuts) (No offence intended)

As a matter of fact, today is Confucius day, or teachers’ day in China and Taiwan.
Enjoy!

yes, happy coffee day!
I am not a coffee drinker but enjoyed reading the article
