Intentional manipulation of data for selective perception to mislead the public and pre-judge the subject.
Manila, Philippines, (01/07/2010) -News is information about recent events. The reporter then is expected to relay it as objectively as he can in reproducing the event.
Videos can do the same thing but the reproduction of events is done through images. The objectivity is also expected to be there if the video is supposed to deal with information. That is the reason the images are not to be tampered with so that truth can be established.
The danger comes in when news is made into videos. As such, news is not text anymore as manipulation is done into its many parts. The structure is mangled and whatever truth it carries is morphed. It is now picture over text; however, the video comes in the guise of news. It is intentionally manipulated for selective perception to mislead the public and pre-judge the subject.
For example, some parts of the text are enlarged as the camera zooms in, and some are relegated to the background as fine print. Other elements come into play to satisfy the motive as text become pictures and put life into the otherwise neutral text. Sounds and motion complete the evil design. It is not anymore news that you watch but it gives the impression that it is so.
Being charged of a case, for example, is not equivalent to conviction. However, the author of such video cum news in the manipulation of text may mislead the public that it is so.
Take the case of the story written by Allison Lopez of the Philippine Daily Inquirer titled, “Ely Soriano charged with falsification of public document” (08/29/2008). It was made into a video presentation and is all over the Internet, planted in all possible sites like an advertisement.
The news report was very much underwritten. Much information was suppressed. And yet it was made into video.
The news reporter, Allison Lopez, could have done her work better she had exerted effort to learn more about “the raped man.” Was Daniel “Puto” Veridiano really raped? Wasn’t he the one who raped 14 of his officemates? Though he had admitted to only 9, many others claim Puto molested them over the years he was around. The Internet is there for Lopez to watch for some evidence, had she done her part.
Also, Allison Lopez had no background on this case that was dismissed but re-filed by Sec. of Justice Raul Gonzalez himself who is not in any way connected with the case. Lopez did not mention that. There were a lot she had suppressed.
The telltale spelling, “Ely,” is an INC trademark that does not hide Allison Lopez and her connections. INC stands for Iglesia ni Cristo that cannot sleep over the many revelations of the mouth that cannot stop: the mouth of Bro. Eliseo Soriano.
And for the man whom Allison Lopez claimed had fabricated documents, all the time since 2005, he was away from his country, the Philippines. How can he fabricate any document then?
Soriano is known as the nemesis of false preachers. Earning the ire of many who wanted to make money out of religion, he had come to a dangerous level: getting himself as Wanted Person in the Interpol site, at the same time being tagged with a ridiculous crime: “Sex crimes.” How that came to be is a puzzle, with so-called media men with INC connections playing the game of accuser and judge. It was only that the preacher stayed far away and went about his work in whatever forms technology could offer: He still preached via satellite wherever he was. But his enemies also worked. With him gone, they spread word that his congregation was fast dissipating but he proved them wrong.
While Soriano’s enemies kept saying he was on the run, he was busy as ever, working on the war victims of South America. He beams now that although admittedly religious persecution figured in his exile, “This is the work of God; these people are hungry for God’s word” he said. Claiming it was not Manalo of the INC who had caused him to go on exile, he says he does not feel bad anymore. Relating the story of Joseph who was sold by his very brothers to the Egyptians out of jealousy, he says he now understands why he had to leave for foreign shores. “Let me show you,” he says and outcome Latinas playing the guitar and singing Tagalog praise songs. The camera spans some more and shows hundreds of foreigners getting baptized and giving testimony to a changed life. They embrace him like hungry souls having found a gem after so long a time of famine.
The preacher had been accused of rape by one he had excommunicated and who readily went to the church group of his arch enemy. That was the pattern ever since: One gets excommunicated from The Old Path (ADD) and went straight to the INC to assume a series of legal battles. The irony is that while in The Old Path (ADD) Jesus Christ is spirit and is the wisdom of God and son of God, with the INC, Jesus is mere human being, was a human being, and will come back a human being. The jump from one belief to another is appalling.
Bro. Eli would exhort the Filipinos at home lest they be thinking of revenge: “Love your fellowmen. The accusations against me are not surprising. I have done nothing wrong to anybody. I had been helping even those who accuse me. The prophets of old had been treated the same way. Jesus Christ had been treated worse. I am less than they are, yet these things are expected.”
Preacher Soriano left his country, the Philippines, in December 2005. Concentrating later his preaching on foreign shores, he had all the more enlarged the congregation of The Old Path (Ang Dating Daan) or Members Church of God International to mammoth proportions. The ever widening Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga, north of Manila, stands to be the biggest in the whole of Asia, and every week there are baptisms all over the globe. He preaches to his people via satellite simulcast through 6 continents.
Lately, Bro. Eliseo Soriano’s Truth blog (http://esoriano.wordpress.com) won in the Mashable’s Open Web Awards for 2010 in the Most Educational to Follow category. It was not the first time though that this blog has earned an award. His blog was the People’s choice awardee in the 2009 Philippine Web Awards in the blog category. More than that, Soriano’s blog was the awardee for the most popular website, besting all others in all categories.

The subject, Bro. Eliseo Soriano, is the presiding minister of the Members Church of God International. He is known as Truthcaster and has a program in that name.
Media has long made game out of him to take his time away from preaching and attend to court cases. He has a long list of cases from libel to “sex crimes” that he says he is accused many times over of crimes he is not involved in.
This time, he gives focus to the work of preaching and let the courts take care of themselves.
these INCompletes have been cooking a lot of rotten stuff ever since, that they themselves eat later on because of their foolishness.
I believe the tactics of the Iglesia ni Cristo of Manalo include manipulating editors of the citizen-powered Wikipedia to destroy Soriano’s reputation and credibility. Their lives have gone really, really far – branding Soriano as an “international fugitive.” Legal experts will laugh at the idea!
What the mangled videos and photos dished as news result in? These misinformation that Soriano’s enemies are spreading via the web are being used then as references by editors at Wiki.
You can appeal to wikipedia that the information they’ve got is wrong..

Character assassination of Bro. Eli Soriano is all that these Iglesia ni Cristo ni Manalo can do. This dreaded Iglesia ni Cristo is SUPPOSEDLY RELIGIOUS but THEY SPREAD HATE stories about Bro. Eli Soriano in the media (which should have been unbiased in reporting) and file invented cases in courts.
Anyone in their right senses would not believe articles similar to Allison Lopez’, after all, one cannot expect an enemy such as the rattled Iglesia ni Manalo and their cohorts to praise Bro. Eli’s good works such as the Libreng Sakay (Free Bus Rides), Free Daily Medical Services, Free College Education and other free services for the public.
More so, INC ministers are not man enough to appreciate the impeccable preaching of Bro. Eli Soriano unlike this South American pastor (www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhJmk9yCcNM) who was man enough to admit that he was wrong and that Bro. Eli preaches the truth.
The enemies of Bro Eli will never stop in destroying his works and image, as satan fighting the God Almighty, for satan is crazy or mad already.

As a result, the one telling the truth is being harassed, falsely accused left and right and is being abused, to the detriment of those people who seeks and wants to know the truth. I don\’t know if those false accusers, persecutors and revilers knows that whatever misdeeds and evil things they do to the one telling the truth, the man of God, no other than Bro.Eli Sorioano, is to their own detriment. I hope some of them will change before it becomes too late for them.
All I can say is that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. And since Bro Eliseo F. Soriano love God and is doing his purpose as a preacher and a prophet of God, everything will work together for his good like what is happening now. Misleading or unbalanced news reporting in media is a way (of the writer or reporter) to inderectly attack and put his subject in a bad light. This is common practice of pirnt and TV journalists who are willing to put their name and reputation on the line in exchange for money or favor.
Sad as it may seem, this breed of journalists abound in the Philippines. Journalists who uses the pen to blur the truth should be not be called as such, a more fitting name for this bias breed of pen pushers is ….” the deceivers”.

I think many already tried writing to appeal to Wikipedia to look into the biography page of Bro Soriano. But I think, they seem to believe their editors over the complaints of the people, who are more informed about the realities and the truth about the case.
I for one tried to edit there, but the editors are so quick to pull out the edits that I made. My speculation is that – these editors from the INC Group, because they have a wikipedia page for their team, are in tandem with these “other” editors to guard any truth that will be posted on the page of Soriano. I don’t know, but it is leading me to believe that money is the prime reason why these editors are curiously guarding the biography of Bro. Soriano.
Wikipedia’s reputation is not that positive but most people do not know that. They swallow all those info – hook, line and sinker like they were the truth. That is the reason research does not admit Wikipedia information. Most often, there is the instruction for references: Never Wikipedia!

Leave out of delicadeza
As a lawyer and judge, I stated with authority that, Soriano is presumed innocent unless convicted with finality.
As a Christian, however, Soriano must take a leave, out of delicadeza, because he ceases to have any moral authority to preach the word of God, because of the gravity of the charges against him: sodomy and anal intercourse – rape, many counts.
I have not heard any news about INC members being charged with sodomy, rape, pedophilia, sexual abuse.

I admit that I only graduated 2nd Honors at the Ateneo, with couples of philosophy and theology courses at LHS, with my classmate Fr. Romeo Archie Intengan, SJ, Provincial, and UP surgeon.
But in my listening to Jesuits and Vincentians, in the seminary, I never heard of any passage of the Bible,
where an apostle or disciple was charged with these sexual cases.
As Wikipedia respected editor and contributor, I admit that $ 2 Billion was paid by the Los Angeles and San Diego Archdioces to settle sodomy, pedophilia and sexual harrassments of altar boys just because of these foreskins, UNCUT.
Now, I will not cite any SITAS of the Bible, since, I know more than Soriano. He memorized the Bible, but I listened to the Jesuits and Vincentians, specifically on this OUT OF DELICADEZA leave.
Soriano in the time being had lost his moral ascendancy to read and teach the Word of God.

After attending gatherings and listening to his broadcasts and topics for more than five years, I would say that the Bro. Eli I know is in no way connected to their version of “Bro. Ely”. From my point of view, it’s been old news already. They (the hyporictic INC) keep on creating lies and falsities and become really, really, REALLY, frustrated about the results. Mind you, they don’t create news but lies! Haha!
Allison Lopez has not done her homework and that will be her undoing.

I have never believed in the credibility of Wikipedia. In well-known universities, Wikipedia doesn\’t count as a credible source for citation. Scholastically speaking, Wikipedia is, in a word, unfit to trust. This is because anybody can edit it – even those with evil intentions of maligning even the most charitable and sensible individuals on earth.
I am disgusted with those third-rate reporters who answer to the beck and call of powerful and wealthy religious leaders and government officials. They who claim to practice journalism, in actuality, practice nothing but sabotage. They would rather let the public read invented rubbish than make heard the truth.
These people give journalists a bad name. Like Philippine journalists need any more problems.

No reference whatsoever of his claims was mentioned to prove them. It is a pity that wikipedia allows itself to used by deceivers to propagate their lies. No wonder wikipedia is not a credible reference.

Bro. Eli Soriano is a man of God. His enemies are trying to do whatever they can to demolish his credibility. Only fools will believe in these accusations.
Wikipedia is a powerful source of information, unfortunately it’s been used by wicked people to malign personalities like Bro. Eli. I say Wikipedia is an unreliable source if you’re trying to do a back ground search on personalities.
