I was reading a disturbing story about a woman hit in the head with a bowling ball for a ridiculous reason. I wanted to share this story with you to get your opinion on this news story.
The news
A woman from North Carolina was hit in the head with a bowling ball by a man named Omar Stevenson (31). They were at a bowling alley together when he offered to buy her a drink. When she refused his offer, he became upset with her. He ended up throwing a bowling ball at her head. The bowling ball cut the woman’s forehead deep enough to see her skull.
Omar Stevenson left the bowling alley after he hit her in the head. The police found him not too long after he left the bowling alley. He was arrested. He told the police that he was upset and he apologized for hitting her. He asked if the woman was okay.
Omar Stevenson is being held in jail. The bail is set for $100,000.
My thoughts
I can’t believe that Omar Stevenson would hit a woman in the head with a bowling ball just because she wouldn’t have a drink with him. He could have just walked away from the woman. He didn’t have to do something so drastic because she turned down his offer for a drink. He’s lucky that he didn’t kill the woman. I can only imagine the pain she must be in as a result of his actions.
Hopefully Omar Stevenson won’t be let off of the hook just because he apologized for hitting her. He needs to be in prison for attacking her the way he did. He could have killed her so he doesn’t need to be free in my opinion.

How horrible. I once by accident threw the ball behind me. Nobody got hurt. My mom and sister forbid me from ever bowling again.
He should probably go to Jail but who’s going to put him there? I don’t know american law but it may not be enough that he used a bowling ball as a dangerous object?! (No idea)
Different people have different approach in that situation. He’s so violent man and needed to be imprisoned.
too many men have anger management issues – I blame their parents and hormones….
I think Omar Stevenson should learn to not do it anymore in the jail.
Terrible news and what a horrific reaction from a man who was given the knock back! Why some men cannot accept “no” is at times beyond me. Good write.
I don’t see how he can get away with causing so much damage and pain to the woman. After all it is a serious assault. An interesting post.
Individuals have different perceptions towards this issue.
I would consider the bowling bowl a weapon when used the way he used it. It could have killed her. That poor woman, just for saying no, which she has every right in the world to do!!
That’s terrible. Rejection is common and it can’t be used as the reason to harm others.
This is tragic! I think this falls under battery. I can imagine how painful this must be and how humiliated the woman must have felt. Yes, he should go to jail and no bond. Nobody has the right to harm anyone in this manner.

OMG, first time I heard someone being hit on the head with a bowling ball, at first I thought it was an accident, when reading the title, and was thinking how can it be, then realised it’s intentionally, so terrible.
