What began as a joke bound for humorous laughs turned out to be anything but for talented talk show host David Letterman.

 Letterman’s joke aimed at Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s daughter took a wrong turn.

David Letterman’s joke took on criticism from all walks of life.  Everyone from the media, to politicians, to the average American citizen seemed to have something to say regarding David Letterman’s bad joke.

The joke came out in poor taste for David Letterman and American women throughout the country found disfavor with the talk show host’s remarks.  It isn’t often that late night talk show hosts offer apologies, sincere or not, to public officials.  Taking shots at those in power seemed to come with the territory.

David Letterman has come forward with a much needed public apology to Sarah Palin, her daughters, and American women everywhere.  Governor Palin has humbly accepted Letterman’s apology with no strings attached.  In the future, David Letterman will have to choose his words carefully before his next political family joke on the air.
