Approved TV Aerial Fitter Sexually Assaults 85-year-old
An approved aerial fitter (vetted by Digital UK) has ben found guilty of molesting a 85-year-old woman.
A TV aerial fitter recommended by the digital switchover organiser Digital UK, was yesterday found guilty of sexually assaulting a 85-year-old pensioner.
Darren Penfold (48) from Blackpool, had been suggested to the pensioner in order to convert her television over to receive digital television. The funded service, is part of the roll out of digital television through the UK, that gives anyone over 75 what they need delivered and installed free of charge as part of a government initiative.
The pensioner who recently turned 85 but was 83 at the time of the attack, was partial of a drop of whisky, which she made no secret about. Penfold took the opportunity to drug her drink with a class C drug, rendering her unconscious. The pensioner awoke the following day with the lower half of her clothing missing. Upon reporting the situation to the police, she was examined and the medical examiner declared she had been sexually assaulted.
As well as carrying out the assault, Penfold also robbed the pensioner of four bottles of her favourite whisky.
The pensioner stated in court that the incident had changed the way she looked at the world, stating she was an active during the war, met people from all over the world, but had never encountered anyone like Penfold, she was not used to that sort of person. And that she would find it incredibly difficult to trust anyone ever again.
The Judge Pamela Badley ordered pre-sentencing reports on Penfold, warning him he will go to prison for a considerable length of time. Penfold has throughout the situation denied the assault, but admitted to the theft of whisky.
It is believed that Penfold’s three children have disowned him.
