Daniel Radcliffe: Post Harry Potter

It is a very hard thing to predict. There are many successful actors in Hollywood who made mark as child actors too. But there are more number of actors who failed to become good actors. While there some actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Kirsten Dunst, and Hillary Duff who emerged as some of the big stars even though after being good child or teenage actors.

As far as Danielle Radcliffe becoming a good actor, or about whether he has a career as an actor in future, it can only be said after a few years. He is not fully matured now and he seems to be in developing stage. He is going through his puberty and we can not say how he may look in few years. What we see as Danielle now is not the same cute little kid we have seen ages ago in The magician’s stone. He is very much changed in recent times. Though we like the kid Danielle, the kid can not do lead roles as an adult. So, we should like him as an adult.

As far as him being Harry for life, it is a bit difficult thing to answer. If he wants to change the image, he has to try new characters and if he doesn’t care about a change in image, then he would realize someday that he made a mistake. But, his Equus and December Boys proved that he could be a great actor in future. He portrayed the characters so good that while watching him in those characters, one didn’t remember Harry Potter. This is his biggest success. It is usually difficult to get out of an image for an actor and it takes time to achieve this. But Danielle achieved this with just one play. This shows that he has the potential to make a mark in acting career.

Even his acting potentials in the Harry Potter movies are praise worthy. He is convincing as Harry and there are no two ways about this matter. But there are some actors like Patrick Demsey who couldn’t get out of the image they have created for themselves at the starting of their careers. So, if they are taken as examples, one may wonder about the future of Danielle too.

But it doesn’t matter and it doesn’t concern Danielle’s case as who ever has seen Equus and December Boys never complained of remembering Harry while they were watching the particular play or show. This shows that he is capable of getting out of the image very easily. This is not really possible so easily.

If he is wise enough to take good roles and do justice to them, there is no way he can not make it big in Hollywood. He can manage with the image make over once the final movie releases which may take a couple of years.
