This is a short snippet about Derren Brown, one of Britain’s greatest magicians and his latest quest of predicting the lottery numbers live…before the BBC can show it.

For all those who don’t know who Derren Brown is, Derren Brown is one of Britain’s most jaw dropping mind bogglers. He is a magician, illusionist and some of his work is just so amazing, he is almost a psychic although he does deny it at times.

He has been known for his amazing ability to know the deepest things about people who he has never met in his life through his psychic ability. He is smart and most of all, he uses this in the work he does. His work ranges from shows that are live and it truly will intrigue anyone who watches his shows and will leave you thinking –“How did he do that?”

But recently, on Channel 4, Derren Brown has been getting up to much weirder things and has started a series called “The Events”. The first instalment was predicting the outcome of the Wednesday lottery by predicting all of the numbers he thinks will come up. I watched the 10 minute live prediction last night where he had pre-predicted the numbers and arranged them on a little holder with a TV showing the live relaying of the lottery on BBC. Initially, I thought, he probably is going to predict a few numbers and say that he did more than someone else can but when I watched the 10 minute show, and when he showed the numbers he predicted, I was filled with awe and admiration. They were perfect, each and every number that the BBC feed had shown. You can see it for yourself here:

Although he has said that he will tell everyone how he predicted the winning numbers in the lottery on Friday in a separate show, many haven’t been able to contain the excitement and have flooded forums and social networking websites through rumours that it is a clever ploy well executed and that it is a split screen technique used in a way that enabled someone to change the numbers. I don’t know how true this is yet because it is still Thursday, but whatever it did, the 10 minutes were 10 minutes filled of pure shock because I didn’t expect him to come up with the lottery numbers.

I’m sure there is more you can know about Derren Brown through his site and YouTube but one thing is true – even if he scams the world, this guy, is brilliant!
