The still face in the midst of a storm.

Okay, is it just me, or did anyone else notice that in the interview at the 2009 BET awards, how still faced Joseph Jackson, father of Michael Jackson, was? He bore not an emotion, not a cry in his voice; he shed not a tear for his son.
I realize that some people react differently in shock. Some people have been known to take vacations and go shopping after a loved one dies. For a little while, I gave Joseph Jackson the benefit of the doubt in that he was so struck by his son’s death that he did not even know his own name, let alone how he truly felt. He claimed that the Jackson family was “all right, they’re ok,” as if he was passing an acquaintance on the street. MY reaction would have been, “have you heard that I lost my son?”
Not the case. If you watch the interview of Joseph Jackson, this man, former manager for the Jackson 5, a group made up of his own sons, spent the four and a half minutes introducing outside people to the interviewer. He claimed how he was not happy with the autopsy results and that he was concerned they weren’t correct. Then, when his attention was brought to the fact that there were massive crowds on account of paying tribute to Michael Jackson, his response was “I wish these people could have honored him when he was alive!” He added, “I wish that Michael could see this.”
Then—and you’ll love this—Joseph Jackson begins to say that he and a partner (whom he also introduced) were the reason for the up and coming Blue-Ray technology. He claims that they first discovered it in their studio.
While Janet Jackson grieved publicly at the awards, Joseph Jackson used the time constructively—to premiere his legend as a band manager as well as talk about up and coming things that “he could not discuss at present time” regarding the music world.
Hmm, never once did he talk about how much he was going to miss Michael.
