The Greg Oden Situation.

Portland Trailblazer’s reported that their star rookie Greg Oden, will miss his rookie season with arthroscopy and microfracture surgery. He is expected to miss six to 12 months with the injured knee.

The mystery is that nobody knows how he broke his knee. Some say he got it from vacuuming, some say he broke it in Ohio State, it’s really a mystery of how his knee got injured. He also came into the NCAA with a broken wrist which is not as serious as the knee injury.

Greg Oden, who led Ohio State to the NCAA game in April, with a broken wrist, had to shoot with his weaker hand. He is going to be on crutches for approximately six to twelve months for recovery. Trail Blazer’s general manager Kevin Pritchard held a press conference to update the world on Oden’s condition. “Certainly this is a setback, but our future is still incredibly bright”. Pritchard said. “Is it disappointing, Yes. However this is a great core of talent and players of strong character and will continue to be”.

This is a colossal loss for the Portland Trailblazer’s because when they were drafting, Kevin Pritchard actually thought about picking Kevin Durant before he picked the thought-to-be superstar center. It’s just the idea of big-man like Oden not coming around that often. It’s not the end of the world for the Trail Blazer’s, but its pretty close.
