Jacko is Back!

Michael Jackson is back and has decided to try and pull off a 50 date residency at London’s 02 Arena. Jacskon appeared in person to announce just a 10 date residency due to start in July, but unprecedented demand meant that AEG Live added 40 more dates to the already gruelling schedule of shows. The question still remains can he actually pull it off?

Jackson has been in the music business for over 30 years and has sold over 750 million records worldwide, he still holds the record for the biggest selling album Thriller with it selling over 104million records to date. Many have doubted his ability to make a comeback since his acquittal of child abuse charges 4 years ago. It has been reported that he is in millions of dollars of debt and that he is desperate to pay off what he owes.

Critics have been shocked with the unbelievable demand for the so called “This is it” shows with the first pre sale tickets going on sale on the Wednesday 11th March selling out within a couple of hours of them going on sale. The ticketmaster website came to a standstill and many loyal fans could not get tickets to see their idol for the first 10 dates. New dates were subsequently added which prompted the question, can Michael Jackson cope with all these shows? Celebrities such as Lemar and Annie Lennox have expressed their concern as to whether or not he is fit enough at age 50 to pull off more than 10 shows. 80′S pop producer Pete Waterman has said that people should snap up tickets to earlier shows to avoid being disappointed.

Jackson is said to be ecstatic at the response to his new shows and is now in the USA preparing for rehearsals to meet the expectations of the gruelling months ahead, fans and non-fans have paid through the roof to get the chance to witness his last live performances in the UK so the pressure is now on for Jacko, will he be able to do it? The eyes of the world will be on him, come July anxiously waiting to see if he can still pull of the famous moonwalk.
