Michael Jackson – Death by Doctor

As evidence begins to roll in it appears that Michael Jackson’s personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, could be held personally responsible for the singer’s death. The case has been called everything from a complete accident to absolute murder and everything in between. At what price do the rich and famous pay for having the power and money to get anything they want, even if it kills them?
As the EMT personnel tried to revive a dead Michael Jackson suspicions were already flying that Dr. Conrad Murray might have had something to do with the King of Pop’s death. From the moment TMZ reported Michael Jackson was being taken out of his home, lifeless, reports began to stream in that the entertainer’s private physician could have contributed to his demise.
As heard on the 911 tape, and played ad nausea by the press, the dispatcher is heard to ask where the singer was and was told that “the gentlemen” was still on the bed and his personal doctor was attempting CPR. This set off a firestorm of questions since anyone who has gone through a First Aid course in CPR knows that the victim needs to be on a flat, hard surface in order for the procedure to be performed properly. Certainly a trained and experienced cardiologist would understand this. But for some reason Dr. Conrad failed to initiate this most basic step in the process.
Now as the FBI and police have seized documents and files from the good doctor’s home and office it seems there is continually strong evidence that Michael Jackson’s death was a series of mistakes, bad judgement, negligence and malpractice.
From the beginning Dr. Conrad allowed the singer to dictate his own treatment. This is a continually major issue with the rich and famous that they should be able to tell a medical person “how” they want to be taken care of. It’s one thing for the average person to ask their doctor questions about their condition and what options they have and even get a second or third opinion in order to get as much information as possible before making a decision, but it is quite another thing for the patient to completely order a doctor to inject them with a particular type of medicine much less have them falsify documents and prescriptions in order to get what they want.
Michael Jackson’s case of dependence on prescription drugs is hardly a new scenario in Hollywood as he himself spoke to his once bride, Lisa Presley about his own fate mirroring that of the King of Rock and Roll. Elvis died tragically; overweight and drugged out – all of which are perfect recipes for cardiac arrest at the least. The fact that Jackson had his own private medical staff that was willing and able to get whatever his wanted regardless of the danger. Even if Michael Jackson’s true wish was for the drugs to just help him ease the pain from a life time of physical trauma that comes from years of mind blowing dancing and singing performances and a horrific fiery accident, any responsible doctor or regular person for that matter, should have had the guts to tell them enough is enough.
But this is where you would have to be person of principals and have your sponsor’s best interests at heart. It may seem easy enough to tell an addict to quit or even tell your boss that you won’t participate in his elicit behavior but when you’re being pay big bucks and are able to party with the stars, chances are most people just don’t want the ride to end. Having true friends and people of actual integrity to surround you is vital and for most of Hollywood and the upper crust, the people that are willing to be the hanger-ons would rather sacrifice the hands that feeds them because its as close they are to fame they can never really be the one that’s in the spot light, unless the star dies. Then the entourage becomes the famous as they get to talk and write about their “friend” who died tragically – in spite of their “best efforts”.
Maybe Michael had good people around him in the beginning but more than likely he never really did.
Much like Mike Tyson where a promising talent is nurtured and groomed for great things and those great things happen, Michael Jackson lost the one thing that could have save him from this tragic end – himself. Tyson survived the loss of his mentor and conscious which caused him to take up with the devil. After that it was pretty much all down hill from there. Jackson had survived a rough childhood, immense fame and success but unlike Tyson, it was Michael’s own demons that fueled his passions and his nightmares.
Being in a position to get whatever you want isn’t always the best thing. At some point even the king has to be told he has no clothes on.
