A comeback that is sure to shock you.

Just when we all the thought the Spice Girls coming back was one of the craziest comebacks in a while, we are undeniably proven wrong as People magazine announces the return of 80’s pop boy band “The New Kids On The Block.” I know what you’re all thinking, I thought I was asleep when I heard the news too! However, this is no dream, although it may be a nightmare for some.

So, after almost 15 years of being out of the spotlight, what’s driving these former pop idols to want to reclaim their fame? Let’s count the possibilities together. It could be the money flowing in like water, the craving for attention, the need to once again have loyal, slightly psychotic fans hanging on their every word and move, although someone should really remind these guys that their once loyal fans are most likely in their 30’s by now. Then of course there’s the music, and if you were a teenager during the late 80’s you can’t deny once busting a move to The Right Stuff.

The question is, in an era where boy bands are simply a thing of the past, how will this all play out? Well, coming from someone who was only about 6 when the New kids hit it big, I only vaguely remember their manufactured sound and bad dance moves, so I’m actually really curious to find out for myself. The boys did pave the way for many, if not all the boy bands that had great success in the 90’s. Maybe their return will trigger another boy band trend, I’ll do us all a favor and not joke about that though.

So tell me what you think, is NKOTB returning a good thing or should they just leave their former fame dead and buried?
