Once again there is a new number one movie at the box office for the week of April 17th. Find out what the number one movie is in this article.

In this week’s edition of the Movie News, there’s a new number one movie. Last week’s number one movie also slipped and there are some new releases in the top 10.

As I predicted once again, the number one movie is a different one.  I wasn’t sure if there was going to be a new number one movie because of what was released this weekend.  I was very surprised by the number one movie.  Zac Efron has taken the number one spot from Miley Cyrus.  17 Again came in at number one with over $24 million.  He plays a teenaged version of a middle-aged man who goes back to high school. Matthew Perry plays the middle-aged man.

State of Play came in at number two with over $14 million.  This movie stars Russell Crowe and Ben Affleck.  Russell plays a reporter investigating deaths linked to an old college friend played by Ben Affleck.  This is a thriller with a mystery element to it.  This one looks like one I would like to check out.

Monsters vs. Aliens came in at number three with over $12 million.  The movie has made $162.7 million domestically.  This movie is really hanging in the top five since it’s stayed there since its debut.

Last week’s number one movie Hannah Montana: The Movie came in at number four with over $12 million.  It has made $56.1 million so far. I didn’t think it would have slipped to number four so fast.  I thought it was going to be number two if it didn’t stay at number one.  Rounding out the top five is Fast & Furious with over $12 million.

I will make a new prediction. I don’t think 17 Again will be number one again next week.  I think that Obsessed starring Beyonce and Ali Larter will be the number one movie. I will let you know if I am right about that or not.

Here is the top 10 list:
