Nation Wide Bandh in India.

A Nation Wide Bandh has been declared in India today in lieu of the sky rocketing petrol price. The petrol price has been increased by 7.5 Rs which makes it a total of 81 Rs per liter in Bangalore city.

Although yesterday it was decided the IT offices were meant to be working as usual, but due to burning of 3 BM-TC buses in Bangalore, most of the people have locked themselves indoors and BM-TC has cancelled all the corporate buses.

I was on the way to the bus stop when I received a call stating that the bus has been cancelled. Except for private vehicles, no other vehicles were plying on the road. The traffic was minimal.

Frankly, I really don’t believe that calling a nation wide Bandh (close) would help in reducing petrol prices. The continual degrading value of Rs first needs to be resolved since the hike in petrol price is a result of that.
