Olympian dies in fall.
Karine Ruby, a previous Olympic snowboarder champion who was in training to work as a mountain guide died in Chamonix, France on Friday on Mont Blac. She was only 31. Ruby was climbing down the mountain ( roped to the other climbers ) when some climbers fell in a deep crevice in a glacier, Officials say.
a Paris man dies in the fall and another man was airlifted to a hospital with serious conditions. The French Prime Minister, Francois Fillion say “Ruby was a exceptional sportswoman”.
Ruby’s medals consist of 1 gold and 1 silver that she won in 1998 and in 2002. She had 65 showboard world cup victories and was a 6 time world champion. She was eliminated in the quarter finals of the 2006 Olympics. When she started training as a mountain guide and was almost finished with her training. She was only 31 when she died.
