Game one of the Boston Hotel Softball League.

Roxbury, MA- Fresh off of a rebuilding year, the Omni Parker House softball team took a step in the right direction with a 17-16 win over the Park Plaza Hotel on Thursday evening at Proctor Field.

Sarah White (reservations) had a masterful performance on the mound and was given plenty of run support with contributions from up and down the lineup.

New addition to the team, Dave Jackson (security), had a great debut and went 4-4 with a home run and 2 RBI. Rich Sullivan (valet) also had a monster of a game, with 2 home runs and 6 RBI.

The hits kept coming for the Parker House, Joe Riordan (door) went 2-4 with a triple and an RBI, Chris Hassan went 3-3 with a double and 3 RBI, and John (kitchen) went 4-4 with 1 RBI. Seamus Murphy went 2-3 and scored 2 runs, and still in his groove from the 2007 season, Dan McKenna (bell) went 2-3 with the game winning home run.

Mario (room service) went 2-4 and made a great defensive play in the top of the 6th inning. On a routine fly out to center field, Mario caught the ball and was able to double up the runner on second base to stop the momentum of the Park Plaza.

Joe Riordan came on to pitch the final inning and had a “lights out” performance….. literally, the lights went out, and the game ended. 17-16 victory for the Parker House.

We had a great turnout, thanks to everyone who came out and we hope to have more next week. Special thanks Julia for her fine defense behind the plate, Mary and Joy for the score keeping, and to Jaime for the supply of Vitamin Water.

The next game will be Thursday May 22nd @ 8pm vs. Boston Harbor Hotel on Proctor Field.
