Phil Ivey, One of todays most exciting Poker Stars, set to make history.

Phil Ivey, one of today’s most dominant Poker Pro’s with a lifetime earnings of around 12$ US Dollars just in live cash games alone; he has now cemented himself into the pages of history again by making 2009’s elite “November 9″. Easily the biggest name at the main table Ivey is always a threat at any table, this will be no exception. Other notable names at this years final table include this years chip leaders coming into the final table Darvin Moon, with 58 Million chips Moon has a massive advantage over the rest of the table as the closest person is Eric Buchman with 34 Million. To put things In perspective Ivey coming into the final table will be 7th in chips; with just under 10 Million in chips It will be interesting to see how the final tables shapes up, and eventually see who win the coveted Main Event Bracelet that only a select few champions have experienced.

Whether you are a fan of Phil Ivey or not he will still make this years Main Event that much more publicized and advertised. Ivey, sometimes being labeled the “Tiger Woods” of Poker, is humble and doesn’t make an obvious attempt at flaunting his celebrity at all, instead his calm and cool demeanor is one of his most feared tools on the felt.

The “November 9″ may be a term people who don’t follow Poker closely don’t quiet follow, and even to some people who even find themselves watching Poker quiet often sometimes don’t know this new term. Last year was the first year this new format was used; In order to raise awareness and advertise the sport of Poker even more, the company who runs the World Series, Hannah’s Entertainment, decided to experiment with the idea of delaying the final table until November and then broadcasting it live on Pay Per View. I personally like the idea and I feel as a recreational Poker player, who enjoys watching poker on T.V, this will add more fans to a some would say declining sport.

Anyway you slice it this years Main Event, In Las Vegas, Nevada will be an exciting conclusion to a great tournament. I would personally love to see Ivey win the Main Event he has proven himself over the years as one of the worlds most dominant players, will he cement his name in the history books this November???

I can barley wait…
