A review and rant about the Super Bowl music.

My husband and I, like many others out there, watched the Super Bowl on Sunday. Packers and Steelers. Good game. Our Super Bowl experience was awful at first once the first part of the show began.

Lea Michelle did great. My Face Book page was overwhelmed with responses about how she sang beautifully. Most agreed that she she have followed up with the Star Spangled Banner rather than Aguilera. Oh My Gosh. How horrendous can a person sing a song? Seriously? I would rather listen to Roseanne belt out the tune with the correct words than forget the words and listen to a cracking voice. Maybe it is proof that some singers should use pre-recorded tracks instead of trying to prove a point. It’s not a difficult song to remember though!

The half time show was even worse. I hoped it would get better, I truly did. But it didn’t. We wanted to mute the half time show but couldn’t stop watching the hot mess of off tune voices, some voices screaming louder than others, and awkwardly flashing lights. The worst part? The part with Slash. She cannot sing the song. It just didn’t work. I still think the Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks awards show performance is the worst rendition though. Nothing can be as bad as that.

Here’s to much wishing and hoping that next year’s Super Bowl will have a better half time show!
