Whitney Houston was a huge star in the 80s and 90s but had troubles is the 00s. The death of Whitney Houston is a shock but she will remain a legend.
I found out some very sad news this morning which made me feel as sad as I’d felt in a long time. I found out that Whitney Houston has died at the Hilton in Beverley Hills – where she was due to attend a party before the Grammys. Now, she made have had her problems and not everyone liked her but the death of Whitney Houston is the death of a legend – and there is no arguing that fact.
Whether you liked her or not, nobody can question her vocals from back in the day – they were quite simply the best ever from a female vocalist, and she helped to change the music industry. I know a couple of weeks ago when Etta James died, I felt similar sadness, but in comparison Whitney Houston is by far a bigger loss, for me anyway. Whitney Houston was still young at the age of 48, and it’s sad to think at one point she had it all, but in a combination of events it was taken away from her.
I can remember singing karaoke to I Wanna Dance With Somebody and thinking how god damn beautiful she was. I mean in her time could you name a better looking woman? Whenever you hear a song from her, you always feel like she is singing it to you, which very few artists can actually achieve.
The circumstances of her death is still very much uncertain. I’d like to think, and hope, and there isn’t illegal drugs involved, as I think she is better than that. Apparently, she was found in the bath in her hotel room, so she may have drowned – but again, this is all very much unknown.
For me, the best time of her career was when she appeared in The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner. Her acting is really quite good. That film will always be a legend and rightly so.
It remains to be seen whether or not things spiralled out of control for Whitney in the end, as there are reports she was on the brink of bankruptcy, but again speculation doesn’t get notification. There is one certainty though, and that is the death of Whitney Houston will never be forgotten, she is one of those who will reign forever.
What are your favourite Whitney songs?

a good singer lost forever
Good singer indeed, but I hate how some people act like they always been a great fan of her music. I even wrote an article on this kind of hypocrisy.
(sorry, newcommer here).
