Tiger Woods Fourth Mistress Named

The golfing legend Tiger Woods has been in the media frequently over the past week or so, but it has not been about his golf. Today, his fourth alleged mistress has been named on public media.

On November 27 2009, Tiger Woods ploughed his SUV through a fire hydrant, hedge and a tree. When officials announced the crash was not caused by alcohol, it caught the media’s attention despite Wood’s plea for privacy.

Since then several women have publically claimed their alleged affairs with Tiger Woods over the years. Today the fourth mistress has been named, Jaime Jungers. The former cocktail waitress claimed her affair with Tiger Woods lasted two years but ended in 2004.

Initially, Tiger Woods denied the allegations and issued a public statement.

“This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way,” Woods said. “Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.”

Two days after that statement the Tiger Woods website was updated with a call for privacy. In it Tiger Woods apologises to his family and fans for his transgressions.

“I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

Tiger Woods has requested privacy to allow his family to deal with the issue privately. The media does not have a great track record of respecting celebrity privacy and several of the women are already talking to publications about the Tiger Woods affair.

Women claim to have had affairs or relationships with celebrities all the time. Sometimes for the attention and sometimes for the money the tabloids pay them for their story. Tiger Woods may have denied it originally but his website post shows there is some truth in the allegations. The fourth mistress being named is doubtless, not the last we will hear of this.
