How did the Pitchman die?
William “Billy” Mays, advertiser of such products as OxyClean, Orange-Glo, and, of course, Mighty Putty, died at his home yesterday of unknown causes. He was 50 years old, and in perfect health, so what possibly had done him in? As of right now, investigators are unsure, but they assume there wasn’t foul play involved. So, one must pose the question, “What killed Billy Mays?”
Trauma?
As of right now there are no indications of serious injury to Mays’ body; however, it is known that the day before his death, Mays’ and his wife returned to their home in Tampa from a trip to Pennsylvania aboard United States Airways Flight 1241 and, due to a tire pop, Mays suffered head trauma from falling objects from an overhead compartment; however, Mays stated that he was fine, though, saying “I got a hard head.” Perhaps this was the demise of Mays, severe head trauma may have lead to possible internal bleeding, etc.
Heart Disease?
As stated by the coroner for Mays, Mays had a history of hypertension in the heart, and that, coupled with the stress of the erractic flight and trauma he had recently encountered, may have killed him. The pressure may have been too much for the graying Mays to handle, despite his still-well-maintained physique.
Sudden Death?
As implausible as it may seem, well over a quarter of a million people die each year from Sudden Death Syndrome, a condition related to many other diseases such as heart, liver, and respiratory illnesses. Unfortuately, this may have been the unforseeable end to Mays’ life, and may have stemmed purely from genetics and family history.
Conspiracy?
At this time, it seems unlikely, however, Mays did have heated competition with brands opposing the products he pitched, particlarly the Shamwow, owned and advertised by Vince Offer. I am not saying anything, however there’s always the chance somebody may have finally had enough of Mays’ outgoing and abrasive manner in advertising.
I still do not know what killed Mays; however, above all, I hope for the best for his grieving family and that they may find peace soon and discover the cause of Mays’ death. I wish the best for them in this time of trouble, and for Billy to “pitch his products in the sky”
