On Febuary 25th, Barack Obama told America we were going to try and cure cancer in our time. I went and found the snippet this afternoon, after listening to still another republican mouthpiece mock him for “Guaranteeing to cure the disease during his administration. Turns out that isn’t exactly what he said.
I have made no secret in past writings that I voted for Obama, and at this point still consider myself a supporter. I have no idea if his spending spree will work or not; we all have opinions, but in reality we just don’t know. It isn’t like he didn’t tell us he was going to do it. Everyone told us he would. All of the opponents may be right. But these are, for the most part, republicans, and they were pretty excited about Reaganomics and trickle downs, and we all see how that worked. Conservatives and Liberals, Republicans and Democrats, blah, blah, blah. Obama could find a way to give away health care to every American at no cost and they would still find a way to oppose it. They even use a topic like curing cancer to create a point of contention. We can’t leave that out?
Don’t misunderstand me… Democrats are equally responsible and just as full of crap. Our political system has been so corrupted with… well, politics, that it has nearly become worthless. We sit and debate as to weather our president should sit down and meet with evil people, and meanwhile evil people are building arsenals. Is it me, or does this whole thing smell like a dying empire? And we won’t need terrorists to blow us up; we’re perfectly content to implode from within.

You share common feelings of most Americans especially the current state that the economy is in. Any person who was elected in office was destined to hold the responsibility of working to stimulate the economy. Even if we cannot find the cure for cancer in this administration, we have found a vaccine for HIV that can possibly prevent further spread of the virus. Great post!
I guess all we can do is wait and see. Great writeup!
Interesting read and there a good many of us who agree with you. I didn’t think anyone (Republican or Democrat) could just come in a swoop all of the mess left behind by the former administration-didn’t they have their heyday though!) I don’t think I have much trust for any government anymore. Thanks for your having the nerve to say what you did. Best of luck!
good article. I am English but I well understand where you are coming from but don’t feel able to comment.
Interesting read Mnof. I pretty much share your sentiment. I voted for Mr. Obama and I still support him.
There is a lot I don’t agree with. I don’t know if we’ll end up better off four years from now or not.
I do know that the angry mobs shouting down reasonable debate is hiding the fact that our nation is run by the big money. It’s as simple as that. Our politicians are in the pockets of those who have the money to lobby and contribute to campaigns.
Good article I hope we do find the cure for cancer soon.
Since his family was touched by cancer it ownly seems right for him to hope to find a cure. Being a cancer surviver myself I can certainly understand his hope. Good article.
Interesting article!
I too voted for Obama, by proxy as I am in Canada. I generally find when democrats are in power, people are simply happier, too much moral oppression under Republicans
There is a cure for cancer…it’s call “Clean Living.” And you’re right,we are going to implode from within!!
Hmm… A cure for Cancer promise would have been very interesting though. The world really needs it!
good article. i liked it
