A People United or Divided?

Republicans, Americans, and Democrats, lend me your ears! Do these words sound familiar? I hope so, fore it is targeted towards us citizens. It seems as of late our elected officials spend more time and money trying to get elected,  re-elected  , or focusing on party business rather than performing as the public servants. It leaves we the people stuck in the middle. And so I propose a new party. Maybe we can call it the American party. Maybe if another party were to be brought about that would at least have a chance at existing for the purpose of the masses, not just the privileged few. I suppose we’ll have just come to the realization that “the party’s over”. Oh well, I guess it is time that we begin to appreciate not only the gentler times of the 1940s, but that wonderful generation that made so much of what we have today a reality. I know it seems to be a bit of a jump, but maybe by taking a “page from their book”, we relearn a true dedication dedication towards god and country. We should not be a nation divided, but a nation united. I have no idea what it will take to bring us together like that again, but together we must be. Families were closer then. Churches were more full then. Less material was had, and deeper friendships were forged. So, I guess the major question is. Are we one people or just party members? We are supposed to be the United states of America, not the divided states of America.
