The cartoon is drawn from the democratic perspective.

I think that the artist is trying to demonstrate the effect of Al Gore’s noble peace prize achievement on Presidential Election of 2008. The artist is trying to highlight the recently growing fame and support of Al Gore in the Presidential Election of 2008, due to his achievement. In this picture, the artist shows the Earth, with a big ozone layer whole on it. Here, the Earth represents Al Gore’s project of Global Warming and his noble peace prize achievement, whereas the ozone hole with the words, “Al Gore for President”, represents Al Gore’s supporters. Further, the artist shows a speak bubble pointing at the ozone hole which says, “How did that thing get so big?”, when another speak bubble replies, “Global Warming”. Thus, through this conversation the artist shows the growing support of Al Gore due to his work on Global Warming.

I agree with the artist’s perspective on this issue. I too think that the recent achievement of such a valuable award will be a big advantage for Al Gore in the upcoming election.
