The thoughts of a way of uniting the democratic party and making peace between the candidates.
I am one of the few people who still think Senator Clinton can somehow win the nomination to go on and beat McCain in the fall.
But let’s say she can’t. Then the only thing I think she has going for her is the fact that she has carried so many states that are important in a general election. I believe in back door room negotiations at the democratic convention, especially in a race this tight. Either Hillary will win her case that she is the stronger candidate, but should include Obama as her vice presidential running mate to go on to beat McCain. Or, that Obama should make her his vice presidential running mate and beat McCain.
These are two scenarios that have the best ability to unify the Democratic Party and keep young, old and middle age democratic people to come out to the polls and vote on Election Day. Granted there is no love lost between the two candidates but if they want to win they have to come to grips with two things. One neither can win this alone, and two, only by joining forces admittedly, reluctantly, will either have a chance of stepping foot in the White House. Obama on his own will not carry all the states that Hillary did and Hillary will not carry all the states Obama did.
Here is something else to think about. Including either as a running mate is not a bad thing! In fact say one or the other wins and is on the ticket, depending on how well Obama, or Hillary do in the white house, it does not hurt either’s plan to run for the white house again. You could say one learns from the other and then goes back at the election again in 8 years. Obama is young could wait out a Clinton white house and run on her record a continuation of that presidency or Hillary could clinch it in 8 years herself by running on his record.
Just think of one thing Al Gore only screwed up because of legalities or else he would have been president as an HBO Movie recently showed.
“Guys, Obama! Clinton! Unite and stop fighting each other. Both of you on the same ticket would be a dream and unite the party! Plus if you look at each other’s platforms there is very little difference. Getting into the white house is what will make your party platforms work. Who cares if it is one or the other who leads the ticket, both should win.
