2008 As I Saw It.

Today January 1,2009, and I am in need of a blessing, but before I can receive, I must give a blessing to my Lord and savior Jesus, and anyone else who reads this. Last year 2008, a year different from any other because I believe God showed up and showed His love to all even if it hurt.We had dreamed the impossible dream, and reached for the star that was out of reach for so long, that most people are still voicing their opinion over the air ways about never thinking it would have happened in their lifetime. But with God nothing is impossible.

Toward the end of the year when God showed up, and He showed us all who truly is in charge of all things, and when history was made in so many ways, it was something to truly be thankful for. I hope that I will be able to tie it all together in a way that no one will be offended, especially Jesus, after all He is the only one who really counts.

There were a lot of history making events that happened last year, and in the years before, some good, some tragic. We saw, read about, and lived through families and friends being torn apart. The war took many lives, as well as natural disaster due to bad weather conditions, and other things that have taken the lives of family and friends, some things we had no control over and some we did.

Then came the historical events that were eye openers, that we witnessed in 2008. The wife of a former President became a democratic hopeful, and the first woman vice presidential candidate ran in the republican party. We watched as history was made when the first black man was elected as President of the United States, with millions of people from all nationalities supporting him. When I looked at some of the record breaking crowds, I didn’t immediately think that most times in the past we were so disconnected. What I believe we were suppose to see is how easily it is for God to connect us for the purpose of opening our eyes, to give Him the glory. All nationalities worked together in harmony during this historical election. They laughed together, cried together, slept and ate together. The important thing we must remember is that if we could do all things together for change in our countries leadership, we must acknowledge that it was God who breathed life into us, so we must continue to stay connected.

How do we receive more of the same? We go back to where it all began. Nothing in life that is good is done because of any power that we have, not even the vote for who will be president. You watched, I watched, and I  believe that a supernatural force was at work. The electorial votes changed early into the night in our new President’s favor, and if thats not God, I don’t know what is. I belive every believing and unbelieving eye should have been opened that night, because through Jesus nothing is impossible when we do what pleases God. We came together as a people during the election of a president, learned how to work together, and how to co-exist with each other, don’t let it end there.

Yes we should be supporting, loving, and most of all praying for our new President, not only in the up coming history making events of the Inauguration, but also in all the life changing events that will happen after. Taking the time get to know Jesus, and to learn what he would do, will help us to say connected as a pleople who will be able to give the new leadership the support they need. Jesus offers us his love daily, and we are blessed to receive this blessing.
