There’s been a lot of heated debate among the people of Edinburgh about the new proposed system. Some people want the trams and others like me are undecided as yet.

The first tram system in Edinburgh was put into operation in the 1920s but these were replaced by the common bus. Now, however, Edinburgh City Council have started to prepare to build a new system through the centre of the city for the trams once more.

I think if they cut down congestion on the main roads running through Edinburgh, then it will be worth it. Whether the trams will help to cut down the levels of pollution in the city, I don’t know. Obviously I wasn’t even born when the first tram system was in place in Edinburgh but if the trams make a difference to overcrowding on public transport, then I’m all for it.
