The subjects of this article are Bennett’s attitudes about Bristol Palin and how government bailouts create artificial markets where unworthy business people get to keep their customers.

Today, part of the uproar on the Bill Bennett Morning in America was Bristol Palin’s television interview where she said teen-age pregnancy is wrong but that sexual abstinence is unrealistic.  In my opinion, Mr. Bennett spoke with an upset and angry voice.  In his intonation there was obvious annoyance.

In addition, it was mentioned that Bristol might be influencing teenage pregnancy with her double message.  I did not see nor hear this television interview with Bristol.  However, I support her right to voice her opinion.

Moreover, I understand that her comments are from a 17 year old who grew up during the 1990’s and early years of the 2000s. This has been a history of Paris Hilton sex tape, Britney’s flashing and kissing Madonna in public, and many more hyper-sexualized images in the present culture.

Now, let me speak on the important issue of hypocrisy in light of the Palin’s professed Christianity.  I see the relationship between an individual and God as a personal issue.  However, those of us who consider our selves Christians know we are not different nor do we put our selves above any one.

This has to be a personal tragedy for the Palin family.  It is good that Bristol has loving and supportive parents.  To many parents throw their teenage daughters out on the street after a teenage pregnancy.  Bristol will be able to count on input and direction from her mother and father.

Mr. Bennett may believe Bristol may end up experiencing hardship.  However, the reality is she is in a good family and has a good support network.  Christians for the most part do not spend their time wanting to judge and persecute.  Yes, we are imperfect.  However, the love of God and knowing very well how his sacrifice saved us fills us with love and support for all who are in dire straights.

Teenage pregnancy is bad.  How Bristol got pregnant is no longer the issue.  It is history.  Time to deal with the present.  Mr. Bennet is right.  Bristol did take the microphone and appear in front of cameras.  However, she spoke of evident facts and she spoke as a 17 year old who is the product of the modern culture.  To expect teenagers to abstain from sexual behavior is unrealistic.  Our modern culture is rather sexualized.

It would be a perfect world if every one followed tried and true principles.  However, who among us can say they have lived a perfect life.  The difference is that most of us can say we have not had the most embarrassing events of our lives discussed in the public square by people with political agendas.

I still respect the Palin family. I still have a lot of solidarity with this family.  As Christians we are under attack by powers and principalities.  It is my sincerest wish that the Palin family surpass this Spiritual challenge and grow closer to God.

I know many cannot understand this sentiment.  However, even without my walk with God I had already become frustrated with the throw away modern society.  If one flaw is found in you, prepare to be thrown in the dumpster.  There will be no opportunity for rehabilitation.  You will not be allowed back in to society, if you make amends and work at being a better person.  These modern attitudes bug me a lot.

I would rather follow the idea of dealing with issues in a healthy and productive manner.  Bristol’s baby will be a loved child.  She may even be spoiled.  Lucky brat.  Receiving the love of your family and support in order to stay in the fight has to be better than overt religious or societal persecution.

Yes, I have a religious life.  However, who am I to judge any one or ask for their shunning.  Moreover, society is not going to improve.  Things will only get worse.  It is that time of human history where people are so far removed from God that evil can only grow.

Do you think it is an accident that one of the most successful countries ever that was elevated by capitalism and the free market economy is now being led by a president and congress who think it is okay to turn their back on the principles that built this country?  The American economy is in dire straights.

However, I see the problem as failure to rely on the basics.  If you behave dishonorable and disrespectful as a businessperson, you loose your customers.   When businesses with out integrity fail, new businesses emerge.  Propping up businesses that have violated the public trust only creates and artificial market.  People use it, but they are not in love with it.

Not to mention that you are keeping the criminals in business.  These businesses leaders who stole from people and mismanaged their capital do not deserve to keep their customers.

I am going to say it again the auto manufacturers deserve what they are getting.  For to long they have disregarded the interest of the consumer.  The consumer wants fuel-efficient vehicles that do not pollute the atmosphere.

Moreover, insurance and banks have also disrespected their customers.  My bank’s leadership here in El Paso, Texas actually believes that 1% interest on a savings account is acceptable.  There is an insurance company advertising affordable insurance for $5 a day.  Am I wrong or does this not amount to $150 dollars a month?

Do you know that the majority of people on insurance use their insurance rarely?  I think 80% of the healthy pay for the 20% unhealthy.  I am a firm believer that if I am going to fund Obama’s universal healthcare then I want them to limit access to smokers, overeaters, and all people who practice high risk behaviors.  Why should I pay health cost for motorcycle riders?  Why should I pay for people who contract HIV because of risky sexual behavior?

It is unfair.  Government is behaving disrespectful.  It should loose me as a customer. Every bank that thinks it is acceptable to charge people three times the value of their home in interest should also loose their customers.
