The state is 26 Billion Dollars in Debt, it will not go away overnight, since it was not created overnight. There is no clear cut answer in solving this.
Well California has finally done it, it’s big day so to speak, always trying to out do every other state, well 26 billion Dollars in debt I think we have out done everyone.
There is not a easy fix for this and nor will there be, it took how many years to create this debt? How many years will it take to shrink the debt?
Downsizing services for the elderly and the youth is not and never will be an answer to solve this budget crisis, it is just going to create more problems and then lawsuits, If we fail to take care of our elderly and our youth and they get sicker or become homeless and cannot get the medical care or the help they need to live, who will be held responsible for it? The State will be.
We need to look at all of these senators and people working for the State in high paying jobs and start cutting their paychecks, no one needs to live on the high road when your cities are bringing more and more homeless people due to not being able to find jobs or not having the proper medical care and support staff to treat these new homeless people.
They say they care and are working on a budget, however they refuse to give up their salaries and take , however they want state workers and many others to cut their pay?
Everyone brings up Gray Davis’s name and says it started with him. I do not have details or facts on that so I can’t really make a comment on his time in office.
IOU’s have been issued and once again people will go without paying their bills and feeding their families, this happened before not to long ago and many people here lost their homes and became homeless and no one really cared even when they were interviewed on the evening news, it did not stop debt collectors from going after them and it did not feed their children.
My question is this? If you are passing out IOU’s you could at least ask the banks and all of the other businesses in the State to not evict or foreclose on a persons home unless it has been 6 months of IOU’s. It is really not fair for the people to be put out of their homes when it is not their fault the State cannot pay them the money that is owed.
I must say it is not easy living in California, however we do not have the money to be able to move out of State since the cost of living here is about 3 times the amount then living in most other states, We stress each day since we do not know if we will have our jobs when we walk through the doors of our employers, I just think enough is enough and someone in office has to have enough guts to say ” ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” and get us our jobs and our homes back.
