This morning (September 8, 2009) President Obama addressed the America’s students encouraging them to work hard, but some are against even this encouraging speech.

The address to the students was given by the president on Tuesday, September 8Th 2009 at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. The message was one of encouragement, telling students to work hard this year, because their success will affect the outcome of this country. “There is no excuse for not trying,” he told students “This isn’t just important for your own life and your own future. What you make of your education will decide nothing less than the future of this country. What you’re learning in school today will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future.”

Unfortunately, there are some that are very against whatever President Obama does.

“I’m an American. They are Americans, and I don’t feel that’s OK. I feel very scared to be in this country with our leadership right now.” – a parent interviewed by CNN Politics

Why would a parent view America’s leader that is trying to ensure a good future for their children as enemy? The President is only trying to help the future of America, not destroy it. Some conservatives accuse the president of attempting to brainwash an manipulate students. Brainwash them to think what? That working hard is the only way to succeed in life? To stay out of harmful and unhealthy activities so that they enjoy full lives? Why would conservatives want to prevent the advancement of their own country.
