Well, you heard it on the news. Obama won the nobel peace prize. But on what grounds? Is this just sensationalised politics? Or free publicity for the Prize because it’s given to the most influential and most talked about person in the world?

‘Soft’ policy of Obama could threaten world peace.

Obama. Did he deserve the prize?

Obama makes some really nice speeches about ‘change’, which seem to hypnotise everyone that hears it, and guess what? Change he got, with a nobel prize going straight at him attracted by his fancy speeches, that translate to a lot of talk and no action, which has created a ‘real change’ of how enemies of world peace are perceiving the United States, which is hardly doing anything to preserve the peace.

Well, I don’t understand why he should be awarded the prize, when countless other presidents who stayed way longer in the presidency of the United States, have achieved more and done plenty for their country.Obama’s policy in the world stage is notoriously deficient in achieving any peace, and is seen by his enemies, as weak, which might threaten world peace instead.

Sensationalised Publicity for the prize just because he’s President?

When you think about it, the Oscars are getting more politically correct with the times. Obama, as we all know, is the first black president of the United States, with a strong oratorial presence.

He is good with the masses as he’s good with his speeches. As to his record, Obama hasn’t been long in office, his health reform has received strong opposition and fierce debate in his country.

His health reform would have meant that health care would have been denied to certain people, whose’s health would be put by healthcare last while putting money savings first.

It’s questionable the claims in the name of peace given to Obama to deserve the prize. The news talk about him blasting the north koreans, no clear policy on Afghanistan, which lacks decisiveness.

Speeches are not enough action to secure peace.

Recent Setback for Peace in the Middle East.

Regarding his policy of ‘peace’ in the Middle East, according to the Christian Monitor article, Obama got a setback.Read the article here titled ‘Failure to advance Middle East peace a setback for Obama’.This is dated recently, on the 22nd of September 2009, just a few weeks earlier the peace prize win.

Obama seen as weak is not taken seriously by enemies of peace

According to the ‘Global Politician’, professor Barry Rubin writes on the 25/9/09 that:

“Obama’s salient international characteristic is not popularity but weakness. Already, Obama has been defied or has buckled under to a long list of countries including: China, Egypt, Iran, Israel, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Venezuela, and now perhaps France.”

The author goes exposing that Obama’s policies are soft, and other countries are taking the lead.On Iran, Professor Rubin goes on to say that:

“First, Russia and China rejected his efforts to get their agreement to increased sanctions. Now, France may be doing the same thing.”

Cartoonist ridicules Obama’s soft policy and compares it with Kennedy’s strong stance on peace and security.

Failure in North Korea. Obama’s Too Soft.

In yet another article from the Washington Times, titled “A direct challenge to Obama’, written 6th April 2009, it says that:

“North Korea’s launch Sunday of a long-range missile is a direct challenge to President Obama and his “soft power” foreign policy”.The author goes on to say that a stronger response is required than just statement following the firing of another rocket by the rogue state near Japanese waters.

Read what the article titled “How should the U.S. handle North Korea?” from the Heritage Foundation dated 4th of May, 2009 , says about Obama’s ’soft’ policy:

“North Korea predictably responded to President Obama’s soft touch by kicking out international inspectors, threatening to build more nuclear weapons, abandoning all previous disarmament pledges and vowing to “never return” to the already moribund Six Party Talk”

Obama offers to ‘talk’, while other people keep building their weapons.

Adding to the list of unfruitful dialogue

Same problem is happening in Iran.In an article written by breitbart, see the full article here, it says that:

US President Barack Obama’s offer to talk to Iran shows that America’s policy of “domination” has failed, the government spokesman said on Saturday.

“This request means Western ideology has become passive, that capitalist thought and the system of domination have failed,”Gholam Hossein Elham was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
