Diet pop is very bad for you so you might as well drink regular.
America is the most overweight people on the planet and I will tell you one of the many reasons why. Diet pop is the the first mistake to losing weight because it doesn’t have any weight loss effect. There have been studies where 30 women, half would drink diet pop and the other half would drink regular sugared pop. Most the women who switched from diet to regular ended up losing up to 5 pounds. Because regular sugar in the regular pop does not have as fattening effect as the artificial sugars in diet pop. Artificial sugars such as aspartame and Splenda, which have adverse effects on your health. America consumes very large amounts of soda and diet soda and if you want the healthiest choice drink regular soda, because diet soda is designed to get you hooked on it!
Did you ever get a headache after stopping drinking diet soda for a little while? If u did, its cause you are having a kind of withdrawal, because the artificial sugar is actually purposely designed to get you hooked to it therefore making you buy more diet pop to, making the soda company gains more profits. Diet soda makes you addicted, and it makes you fatter so you actually think you need to drink more diet pop! purchasing more and making the soda companies a great deal of money. (this is a great tactic for these companies that they actually This is just one of the hundreds of reasons why you don’t lose any weight after drinking diet then after drinking regular soda. Its all just a money making tactic for the food industry, and it is very deceptive. So don’t give in to the foods that say diet to quickly, because usually it is a scam for the companies to make higher profits.

I see your point, but it’s a myth about aspartame and splenda. It may be harmful in large quantities, but just a soda daily is not going to harm your health. And, just for the record, a diet soda has nearly 0 calories compared to nearly 200 calories in regular sodas. The cola companies are going to make a profit regardless of which product your purchase, because the companies make diet and regular.
wow.. i think i should tell my mom about this.. she downs diet soda by the gallon
Artificial anything isn’t good for you. I’ve been calling any Diet soda “cancer in a can.”
A soda daily can be extremely harmful to your health.
Soda sucks calcium from your bones and causes weak bones.
Diet soda is better for weight loss because it has no calories or under 25 calories, the reason why people don’t lose weight when drinking diet is because, they go I’m having diet soda therefore they eat higher cal foods ect. Also there are to many variables in most studies done to be conclusive.

I cannot tell you any long term effects about diet soda but I can tell you my story. A month and a half ago I switched from regular to diet soda. I have also dieted correctly and hit the weights roughly 3 times a week. I do drink less pop overall since starting this but I need to tell you that I still go out and drink (alcohol) mainly diet pop mixed drinks at about 3 times a week (and usually drink alot) I have still lost 15 pounds in my month and a half and have beaten to myths…the diet pop myth and the myth that alcohol stops weight loss and muscle growth. Everyone works a little different so do what works for you. But I promise you if I were still drinking regular pop I would not have lost 5 pounds even.
I’m going to have to disagree with the original statement about weightloss. Diet soda does not cause you to gain weight, although I also wouldn’t say that it causes you to lose weight. Sugar substitutes such as aspertame are harmful to your body in the sense that your body stores them and they do not break down like other foods or chemicals. Aspertame can remain in your system for over two weeks and does not contribute to your daily diet, while natural sugars can break down and exit your system in a number of days depending on your metabolism and physical activity. If you are drinking diet soda, then basically your weight loss is going to be based on other choices and activities such as avoiding regular soda and food-diet or exercise. Even though I don’t think that you should drink diet pop, regular soda definately contributes to weight gain because of the large amounts of sugar that are absorbed into your body and stored just like carbohydrates and work against you if you do not keep up regular physical (anaerobic) activity.
Bottom line: Lay off both kinds of soda and stick to water, juice or milk.
I have read several articles besides this one which state the terrible effect on your health that diet soda has. Obviously we would all be healthier if we didn\’t drink soda at all but honestly, who\’s going to be able to say off the wonderful stuff? Not me! But if you\’re gong to drink soda anyway, you should NOT drink Diet. There are countless statements, books, articles, etc. about the harmful effects of diet. I\’ve even had a conversation with a close friend who used to drink regular and started drinking diet and noticed side effects. I told her about how bad it was and she stopped. It\’s true diet may technically have fewer calories, but what about all the other crap they put in there to replace those calories? Do you think they just took them out? No, they replaced them with things that were even more processed and even more fake and even more harmful that regular. So I say if you are going to drink soda don\’t bother with Diet.
I think that Diet Pop and regular pop isnt good for you. Mainly for this reason; it ruins your bones. So why waste your time drinking either if you want to loose weight. I gave up pop for a month and lost 12 lbs. with continued exercise and dieting, after my month program was over i started drinking pop again, and have gained that weight back. I beleive that both types of pop cause weight gain because your body cant break it down.
..so don’t ever drink diet soda!
