Driving with alcohol in the province of Quebec.

One driver who was a repeat offender was allowed to take to he roads and hit an innocent person in a wheelchair. This was a repeat offender who was released after a short jail term and the Quebec premier has not apologized or addressed the issue. According to a member of the family it falls short of the need to have the government work in the interests of the people and make sure that punitive actions are applied so that the roads are safe for the citizens of the province. This is if Canada is to remain a country which prides itself on being first when it comes to road safety. But with recent viaduct collapses, bridges that are crumbling, recurrent inferior road repairs and other accidents on the roads I am doubtful that the Liberal party will make any difference.

The relative stated in a letter to the prime minister of the province that she would like him to answer for the fact of having a repeat offender on the road, otherwise she would have to assume that he does no care in the least to make any changes. It is like having a loaded gun in the province where there are current regulations against having weapons but the same does not apply for someone who is allowed to drive on the road under the influence of alcohol and has not been definitely reprimanded, had his license taken away or had his car impoinded
