The process to elect the American President has become a marathon. It is way too long.

The candidates are loathe to say anything that might come back to bite them.

What are the issues? Who are the candidates.? Are any of them qualified to deal with America’s problems?

Where We Are

Bush gets too much criticism, and not enough credit for what he’s done.

I don’t have any problem with the war in Iraq. The Viet Nam war was far more foolish, and devastating.

What I dislike intensely about Bush is that he has sold us out to Corporate America.

The consequences of this mischief is still playing out. The credit card companies, banking giants, oil companies,, the AMA, the gifts in the form of presidential decision to the lawyers of our country is a scandal. I reject bush on these scores.

The Elections, And The Issues

I am absolutely certain my ranking of issues won’t sit well with every one, but, oh well.

Terrorism

I just sat for two hours watching the attacks on the Twin Towers, and The Pentagon. I had tears in my eyes.

Three thousand of our people killed. The first foreign attack on our soil since revolutionary times.

Unfortunately, memories are short. American amnesia is a frightening reality.

I don’t want that kind of thing to ever happen again.

I want a president that will see to it. Since 9/11 several plots have been detected, and stopped. I give Bush , and to a much small degree Congress, credit for this.

I want my family, and your family safe from Bin Laden, and his band of fanatics.

Immigration

It galls me that we let Mexico dump their drags on us, because we didn’t do what we promised in 1986.

Mexico is a lousy neighbor. It has instituted a new kind of invasion of another sovereign nation. Invasion by immigration (largely illegal immigration). The Muslims like it so much their already in Africa, Europe, Afghanistan, and The Northern Border of China pushing natives people to their customs or killing them..

As population continues to explode world wide, migration will increase as land can’t support the growing numbers. Your neighbors got lots of room. Amongst those poor souls who must move or perish there will be mingled in terrorist trying to infiltrate, and then dominate. New outpost to launch their holy terror on others.

Economic Chaos

People are losing their homes. Mortgage companies sold millions of variable loans to desperate home owners who bought way to many status toys. Shame on the finance companies, including Citibank, Wells Fargo Bank, Country side, Fannie Mae, and a boat load of others.

And, shame on the materialistic show offs who had to have every gadget, boat, SUV, and any other device that set them atop the social throne.

It’s a huge problem of which there are no heroes. It has affect every country in the world.

Can anything be sadder, or more UN-American than foreclosing on some one’s home. Americans always want the easy answer, and sometimes pay for it.

But, watching on television, the new industry of fore closer brokers wooing investors is sickening. These alley cats making a buck off others misery have become the new American way.

Down the ladder from these guys are the CEOs taking home multi million, sometimes billions, of dollars, and stock options for doing poor, to fair jobs. One corporation I know of paid a failure who was fired as CEO some twenty one million dollars for a bad job.

Recently, an insurance company was stopped from calling their clients doctor trying to get information from the doc that would provide a reason to drop that client. Next time you watch an ad for an insurance company, remember this warm, and caring attempt on the part of a well known national insurance company.

If were in financial swamp look around you to find out why.

Medical Care

I read somewhere that forty million people did not have health insurance. I guess they can’t or won’t spend the money necessary. In these numbers are the young adults who think their invincible, or are just starting out, and can’t afford health insurance.

One has to wonder how many illegal aliens are in that number.?

Solutions are perhaps available.

The trash, drivers toss out the window of their vehicle, costs the various state, and federal agencies well over a billion dollars a year to pick up.

If you don’t like that solution, How about the multi millions dollars paid to provide comforts to people on death rows. This is not to mention the unending appeals put forward by constantly billing lawyers.

Or, The many trips, and meals, and Lord knows what else were billed for, by our employees in government.

Not to mention the pork these trough dwellers tack on to bills that run up into billions of dollars.

There are untold other ways to help these forty million that I can’t list here.

Political Gridlock

The Democrats think governing consists of hearings, trying to get the other parties

appointees fired, or the classic baseball hearings brought to you by both parties. Did you ever see a more pathetic display by our employees than that..? The speaker of the House was going to straighten Washington out. When? Have they put forward one idea for the common good.

Republicans are just stupid. They can’t keep their noses out of scandal. One party holding the reigns of power too long is bad business. The elephants have given the keys to the kingdom to corporate America. It’s almost like their trying to line up jobs after they are ushered out of government.

Until some statesmen (women included in terminology) get into Washington pettiness shall rule. But, the stakes are way too high to accept these childish behavior . The issues previously mentioned and, Social Security, gang increases, Iraq require serious adult attention. How much longer will we send the same old problems to Washington to solve the same old problems.

Russia

Putin is retiring. That is he didn’t want to go, but for the sake of democratic appearances he had to. But, don’t worry, his hand picked man will assume the Presidency.

Putin ,is an old KGB guy. But, under his thumb, the citizens lived better than Democracy fed them.

The press, television, and newspapers are no longer free to speak their minds.

He has decided to get the Cold War going again. For the first time in mid 90s, Russian bombers are circling

the globe daily. They are being escorted by British RAF jets, and US fighter jets.

Putin wants to be recognized as the leader of a returning super power.

Depending on his ability to restrain himself are we safer now than before Mr. Putin.?

My Take

I have voted in every election since 1964. For the first time, I am hard pressed to pick a candidate I trust, and believe can handle the world they must face.
